New Member Training Schedule for 2009
CERT is Disaster Preparedness and Response Training for citizens that want to help their families, neighborhoods, and the community in the event of a Disaster within our City. This training is free of charge and open to anyone living or working in the City of Fort Worth.
Class #16 begins August 3rd
Class #17 begins September 14th
With the spring storm season around the corner, now is the time to prepare yourself and your family for severe weather before it strikes.
To help residents prepare, the City of Fort Worth has partnered with local governments and agencies regionwide in the KnoWhat2Do program - a public education campaign and resource Web site designed to help people prepare for emergencies.
If your tax return has you stumped, the Fort Worth Library and the American Association of Retired People (AARP) are ready to lend a hand.
AARP is providing a team of knowledgeable volunteers to help taxpayers with advice and tax preparation. Anyone can take advantage of the free service. However, priority is given to seniors. Appointments are required.
The City of Fort Worth’s Housing and Economic Development Department makes counseling and homeownership training available at no cost to all Tarrant County residents. For those homeowners who may be facing foreclosure, the city offers foreclosure mitigation counseling. A counselor can review your financial situation and put together an action plan that may help resolve your delinquent mortgage status.
